Workshop Information
Session one - Aimed at K-6
Information fluency brings together information literacy, digital capabilities and a range of soft skills that enable students to become fluent users of information in their everyday life. There are nuances of this and how this is enacted in your school will depend on the school, skills of the teacher librarian and the needs of the students. The NSW Department of Education is in collaboration mode of developing an information fluency model and framework, this will be outlined together with the base level research. Participants in this workshop will work on teaching and learning strategies that embed information fluency specifically for a K-6 school. As a result of this, participants will develop the beginnings of an information fluency approach for their school.
